Emmett is one of our first Painted Rock rams that sports a wide, classic 2 horn look. Fleece is long & soft. His quiet temperament & diverse lines earned him a permanent place here. Emmett is a LILAC carrier who produces both 2 and 4 horned lambs. His sire, Abraham was our first flock sire!
We reluctantly had to make that "quality of life" decision for our beloved ram, Asher. He sustained some minor injuries to his nasal cavity one fall in a ram disagreement over breeding a ewe who managed to jump fences to entice a suitor. His ability to smell was affected, hence his desire to eat grass, hay and even grain. He did not winter well and increasingly became the target of a couple of the younger, stronger rams bullying him. After one particularly devasting bout, we knew we had to make a decision for his best interest. Asher was laid to rest here at Painted Rock Farm in late April of 2008. He will always be greatly missed and was an outstanding specimen of a Jacob ram. His balanced, symmetrical horn set always made him a real show-stopper on the farm. A lovely fleece and gentle nature was not only evident in Asher but was consistently apparent in his lambs, who were often the first sheep sold each spring. We have been blessed to keep several of Asher's lines within our own flock.
Farm News & Other Stuff
Iram a 4 horned, four yr. old ram and leading flock sire at Painted Rock Farm. His diverse lines, excellent fleece quality and well-developed horn set has exceeded my expectations! Iram carries the LILAC gene, has produced lovely lambs consistently for us.
Jacob is a 2 horned yearling ram from retiring flock sire, Painted Rock Evan. Diversity of bloodlines from his dam, Fibre Folds Delaney will prove valuable! Gentle personality, excellent fleece quality, very wide horn set with great 4 horn potential completes this ram!

Our Jacob rams are the shining stars here at Painted Rock Farm. This ram page reveals the dynamics of our flock's genetic base. Using both 2 and 4 horned rams, we have developed and maintained one of the most widely diverse flocks of Jacob sheep in the country! We select for fleece quality, horn soundness, overall conformation and for quiet, gentle temperaments. Below you will find photos and pedigree links for Painted Rock's flock sires, as well as for some exciting flock sire potential candidates we are evaluating. Painted Rock Major
Painted Rock Maximus
Max is an interesting combination of our own Painted Rock lines- an Asher grandson, plus lilac potential. Amazing horn set, great markings and terrific wool too! We look forward to seeing his lambs!
Major is such an overall, quality ram that has become increasingly more confident as he ages. Being a grandson of flock favorites, Abraham and Cascade, he certainly is worth holding on to. Amazing fleece quality, from long lines of unfreckled fleece triplet potential from both parents.
Painted Rock Jasper
Jasper is one ram I had listed for sale but just like him SO much, have opted to keep him, sold his son instead. His strong horns, diverse pedigree & 4 horn background add to this lilac ram's list of qualities. He is such a rock on consistency with us.
 Harshberger's Lincoln
NeverWinter Brahm
Brahm is a welcome addition of interesting lines from NeverWinter Farm in GA; the wool on this ram is long, soft and, well, yummy! His balanced horns and markings, along with calm demeanor made him an obvious choice for bringing tin new bloodlines for the flock.
Painted Rock Kirby
Kirby is a large ram our of our own Emmett combined with Scrub Brush Beckey. Diverse lines abound in this pedigree with both 2 and 4 horns. Kirby's fleece is non-freckled, very long with consistent crimp throughout. Massive, widely spaced horns on this fellow make him a real standout in the group.
Since we sold Moses last summer, we opted to keep a 4 lilac ram from the same breeding ~ Painted Rock Iram x Painted Rock Jinx. This blue eyed boy is a very promising prospect we plan to keep on the farm. Nicely spaced horns and long, crimpy fleece add to his worth to us. Love this guy!
Painted Rock Noah
Lincoln is a Washington son out of some of our favorite Brighton lines. He reminds me so much of our beloved Asher! Classic horns and markings, diverse pedigree and great temperament makes him a welcome addition here at Painted Rock!

St. Jude's Tevin
Tevan is one of three rams added this fall from St. Jude's farm in Texas. We are SO blessed to have the opportunity to infuse these wonderful lines into our flock and are excited to see what Tevan produces. His striking look and non-freckled fleece add to this handsome fellow!
St. Jude's Bryce
Bryce is a another stunning 2 horn fellow from St. Jude's farm. Smaller leg/ankle markings; wide horn set and easy going temperament makes this ram another ideal asset to our flock. Fleece is gorgeous!
Painted Rock Nelson
St. Jude's Dyer
Dyer, is our 3rd St. Jude's ram, sired by St. Jude's Bryce (shown above, right). This ram lamb has a striking fleece that is nicely crimped and noticeably bright. His dam's line has some wonderful old Brighton lines that I am partial to. I look foward to introducing this interesting pedigree into the flock. Dyer will be on the Fall Line-up for next year's breeding.
Nelson is a Kirby son and Asher grandson with such an interesting pedigree! Lots of 4 horns in his background too. Nelson sports an amazing fleece that is consistent from front to back with noticeable lustre. It will be interesting to see how his horns develop now that they have swept wide and away from his face.
